We support new and emerging journals that are starting from the ground up. This service is designed for institutions, departments, associations, research groups, and scholarly initiatives that want to establish a credible academic journal but do not yet have the core structures in place. The process helps build a strong foundation for long-term quality, visibility, and sustainability.

Step 1: Application of Interest

The institution or journal founder submits an application of interest to begin the process. We then hold an initial consultation to understand the vision, field of focus, target contributors and the type of journal to be established.

Step 2: Journal Concept Development

We work with the journal founder or institution to shape the journal’s identity and direction. This includes support with the journal title, scope, aims and objectives, focus area, and the overall publishing vision of the journal.

Step 3: Governance Structures

We support the development of the journal’s internal leadership and governance structures. This includes guidance on establishing the editorial board, defining editorial roles and responsibilities, and strengthening the journal’s academic and institutional oversight.

Step 4: Policies and Standards

We assist with the development of the core policies and documentation required for a credible journal. This includes editorial policies, peer review policy, publication ethics, author guidelines, reviewer guidelines, copyright and licensing information, and other key documents aligned with recognised publishing standards.

Step 5: Journal Setup

Once the journal’s identity and policies are in place, we support the technical and structural setup of the journal. This includes preparing the journal platform, setting up workflows, organising the journal structure.

Step 6: Capacity Building and Support

Before launch, we provide guidance and support to help ensure that the people involved understand how the journal will operate. Once the journal is ready, we support the launch process and continue providing technical, editorial, and management support to help the journal grow sustainably over time.
